1 out of every 2 marriages end in divorce. This statistic has been gaining increasing awareness as people start to realize the impact of this: You have a 50% chance of having a successful marriage. As a part of the American dream -- high-paying job, loving spouse, big house, smart kids -- marriage has become a staple in American society. Doesn’t every little girl dream of her ideal wedding? Isn’t it pounded into every little boy’s mind that he needs to provide for his family? Why is then that only half of American marriages make it? If it’s our goal in life to fall in love and find someone to live with -- why do we let it go?
